The Shady Cove Pharmacy’s history stretches way back, inherited from the former area pharmacy “Rich’s Pharmacy and Cigars”— from back in the day when those two things could travel hand-in-hand.
Rich’s Pharmacy and Cigars bought the current building somewhere in California, hauled it up, and placed it in its current spot. Then they moved into it from the other side of the Shady Cove bridge. Tim and Carol stepped up to the plate by purchasing the Pharmacy in 2001, and (happily) it’d already been rebranded as Shady Cove Pharmacy.
About the Owners:
Tim studied at Washington State University while his father worked in the forest service in Washington. When Tim started college, the family packed up and hightailed it to Medford. Tim noticed a little local pharmacy in downtown Medford when he visited the family, and that’s how his journey with local pharmacies began.
Tim purchased Black Oak Pharmacy in Medford and expanded its service to the community by opening Black Oak Home Medical, which carries wheelchairs, hospital beds, and more. Since Tim and his wife, Carol, took the reins of Shady Cove Pharmacy, they’ve poured their hearts and souls into this place and its sister pharmacies—Black Oak Pharmacy and Black Oak Medical. They’ve been at it for over 40 years.
The Future:
Looking ahead, Shady Cove’s set to grow through our partnership with Cascadia Pharmacy Group. We’re gearing up to offer better access to goods and services right here, saving you the trip to town. Come down and meet the Shady Cove team. They’re the pros at keeping you going strong – whether it’s keeping you moving, helping you recover from a tumble, or making sure a small hurt doesn’t turn into a big one.
